Small Works

An etching by Maria Passarotti will be showcased in the 31st Small Works exhibition at 80 Washington Square East Galleries on view from February 2 - March 14, 2008. Opening reception Saturday February 2, from noon - 4 PM.

This year's Small Works was judged by Richard Witter of OK Harris Works of Arts in New York.

Photographs of the City

A selection of images from Maria Passarotti's Urban Rooftops series will be exhibited in the lobby of the Hines Corporation Building at Merritt Crossing, 440 Wheelers Farms Rd, Milford, CT. 06461. The show runs February 1 - May 15, 2008, and the building is open for viewing 9AM-6 PM Monday through Friday.

Botanical Portraits

Two cyanotypes from Maria Passarotti's Botanical Portrait series were chosen by juror Tricia Rosenkilde to be included in Soho Photo's Juried Alternative Process Competition. Inspired by such subjects as Victorian paper cuts and the botanical photograms of scientist Anna Atkins, Passarotti's Botanical Portraits combine figural imagery with photograms to create hauntingly beautiful images where the subject is married to their landscape.

American Photography

The competitive photo annual American Photography has chosen two images by Passarotti to include in their 2007 edition. The photographs, "Row Houses" and "Canopy", were among 331 photographers selected from 8,000 submissions.

Maria Passarotti on Tinyshowcase

Two of Passarotti's bird cyanotype prints were featured on Tinyshowcase. Passarotti's edition of 100 prints sold out in less than 10 minutes! And a portion of the proceeds were donated to the charity of her choice, Scenic Hudson.
